Rolling Operations
The development of rolling technologies is aimed at improving rolled products manufacturing processes at all production stages — from the receipt of slabs at the warehouse to packaging and shipment of finished products in order to improve consumer properties, reduce production costs, in particular, by achieving the SuperTBL (technically based level)
The Rolling R&D team is dedicated to realizing the potential for improving existing rolled products production processes to meet current and future customer needs.
Technologies for the production of steel grades with special properties will increase the share of strong low-alloy steels in NLMK’s order book, including those stronger than 700 MPa.
The implementation of projects aimed at improving the surface quality of rolled products will meet the growing demand for products with high requirements for protective and decorative properties of the coating or a special condition of the surface of rolled products without coatings.
A further increase in the accuracy of rolled products will allow us to meet the demands of customers using high-performance metalworking equipment.
Meeting the demand for steels with high complex of magnetic properties will support the global trend towards energy-saving technologies and «green energy».
