NLMK Group, a company operating its complete metallurgical cycle, gives its high priority to the matters of environmental protection and population health.
With new products developed, the R&D Center follows its sustainable development principles and does its best to reduce environmental load resulting from metallurgical and associated product waste processing projects.
Today, scientific achievements are focused on reduction of any adverse environmental effects resulted from the NLMK Group factories (e.g. reduction of H2S and greenhouse gas emissions), utilization of previously collected wastes (e.g. complex caked dust and slime processing), and creation of materials with properties being on demand, such as antibacterial or self-cleaning coatings.
Such projects are of great importance not only for the company but also for the regions where it operates and, therefore, they are positively estimated by the regional and federal public authorities.
