Business targets
This product is very popular in the market and is used to manufacture load bearing parts of a car body, seat frames, high-strength packaging tape, tooling and fasteners, etc. No material of this class has been produced in Russia before.
Within the framework of the project samples of the resulting steel grades were analyzed, computer simulation of physical and chemical processes occurring in the steel during processing was performed, and the production technology was developed.
Implementation features
The developed technology was tested on a laboratory equipment and after confirming the target result, we started pilot tests.
During the first campaigns complex-phase grades HCT780C and HCT980C were obtained, HCT980XG dual-phase steel and even HCT1180G2 multi-phase steel as per EN10338. The grade names indicate the minimum permissible tensile strength.The resulting rolled products were shipped to the first customers and successfully tested. At the moment, we are changing the format of working with our customers of this mix in order to jointly develop and adapt new brands for the automotive industry.
